Fashion Repeats Itself

You know of the phrase, “History repeats itself.” But it is not alone because it also applies to fashion. In the past, when you are seen with last year’s fashion, you will be called outdated or so out of fashion. But now, if you are seen with outfits of that same year, you are called fashionable.

That is because styles are constantly being revived. We are now seeing hip hop clothes worn by youngsters on the street. While the hip hop clothes has not really got out of fashion in other places, it became a mere fad in the Philippines. But now, it is coming back. If you don’t like it, you will just have to live with seeing young people wearing them.

A Glimmer of Hope

Drug addiction is not only a problem among the youth today. It could be surprising to some, but there are as much adults who are hooked into drugs as young people. Drug addiction has destroyed countless of homes, killed more people that we could ever imagine. Somehow there must be a way to at least minimize these problems.

Aside from having drug awareness programs, the government should establish at least one drug rehabilitation center in every major city. These addicts find it hard or impossible to get out of their situation and start clean, and they would need professional help. The expertise of trained medical practitioners and psychologists would be needed to help them get out of this dilemma one step at a time.

Drug addiction could be deadly, and it is tragic that it has affected so many people today. But with these institutions being built up, we see a glimmer of hope.
